Job Description

Cyient is hiring experienced CAD Engineers for its Pune office. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who have practical experience in mechanical product design, CAD modelling, engineering documentation, and product lifecycle management. Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative engineering environment where quality, accuracy, and timely project delivery are important.

The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed 3D CAD models using Creo while ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME Y14.5 GD&T. The role also involves working with Windchill PDM and PLM systems for document management and engineering change processes.

Applicants should have good exposure to casting, sheet metal, and plastic component modelling. Knowledge of packaging design and documentation is also expected since the role includes preparing packaging instructions, engineering reports, and manufacturing-related documentation.

The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, testing, and product engineering to deliver production-ready designs. Strong planning skills, ownership of assigned tasks, and attention to engineering quality will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate 3D CAD models using Creo.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings following GD&T standards.
  • Work on casting, sheet metal, and plastic component modelling.
  • Manage engineering data using Windchill PDM and PLM.
  • Prepare engineering documentation and test reports.
  • Create packaging instructions and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams.
  • Maintain engineering revisions and design records.
  • Ensure drawings comply with customer specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering discussions.
  • Support engineering change management activities.
  • Follow company quality procedures and documentation standards.
  • Deliver assigned work within project timelines.
  • Communicate project status clearly with stakeholders.
  • Contribute towards continuous process improvement initiatives.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple engineering tasks, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment. Strong analytical thinking, documentation skills, communication ability, and commitment to quality will help candidates succeed in this role.
